Our Success Stories

Our Continuing Education Project, where we arrange sponsorships for motivated students from very poor families and which allows them to stay in education has reached 100! Nearly 20 of these students have moved onto higher education and for example have become teachers, engineers and nurses.

In September 2024, Rosie and Bryan of the MRVOEC were awarded the British Empire Medal in Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s last Birthday Honours ’for services to education, charity work and local community support in Northern Thailand’.

Special mention should be made of one of the students who received support from the MRVOEC’s Continuing Education Project. Aom did so well at school that she won an amazingly generous scholarship to study at the University of Bristol and in July 2024 and received an Honours degree (2.1) in Education.

In 2016, we began construction of this much-needed facility in an area where no such provision previously existed.
